The Mexican film El Santos vs la Tetona Mendoza, an Átomo Films and Peyote Films production was selected to be presented at the Annecy Festival 2013 this coming month of June.
The prestigious Annecy Festival is the most important animation fesival worldwide, presenting the most representative animated films since 1960. The Festival has taken place in Annecy, France since it’s foundation.
The feature film directed by Alejandro Lozano, produced by Fernando de Fuentes, José C. Garcia de Letona, Lynn Fainchtein and Paco Arriagada, based on the characters of the popular comic strip created by Jis and Trino, becomes the first Mexican animated film to be presented in the history of such festival.
El Santos vs la Tetona Mendoza was selected amongst more than 80 films in order to be part of the program. Japan, U.S.A., Canada, Russia, Switzerland and France will also be present in such a prestigious festival.
The audience will be able to enjoy a unique, irreverent, satiric, horny and tremendous fun film which features the animation direction of Andrés Couturier (“Magos y Gigantes” and “Kung Fu Magoo”) and the art direction of Rafael González Trujano besides the voices of great actors such as Daniel Giménez Cacho, Regina Orozco, Héctor Jiménez, José Ma. Yazpik, Jesús Ochoa, Joaquín Cosío, Demián, Bruno y Odiseo Bichir, Andrés Bustamante and Guillermo del Toro as well.

Last night, El Santos vs la Tetona Mendoza, a film produced by Átomo Films and Peyote Films was the winner as the best animated film at the CANACINE awards 2013.
The film adaptation of the popular comic strip created by the cartoonists Jis and Trino and directed by Alejandro Lozano, stars the voices of Daniel Giménez Cacho, Regina Orozco, Héctor Jiménez, José Ma. Yazpik, Jesús Ochoa, Joaquín Cosío, Demián, Bruno y Odiseo Bichir, Irene Azuela, Cecilia Suarez, Cheech Marin, Julieta Venegas, Dolores Heredia, Rocío Verdejo, Andrés Bustamante and Guillermo del Toro as well.
The script was written by Augusto Mendoza, the animation was directed by Andrés Couturier, the art direction was in charge of Rafael González Trujano and the productores Fernando de Fuentes S., José Carlos García de Letona, Paco Arriagada and Lynn Fainchtein, also in charge of the film’s soundtrack production together with Tito Fuentes (Molotov) and Camilo Froideval.

VODKA, children's content and entertaining branches producer, has closed an agreement with ÁNIMA ESTUDIOS for co-producing its’ new multiplatform project, BUGSTED.
ÁNIMA ESTUDIOS, created in 2002, is the most important studio in Latin America. Producer of the animated series "El Chavo", which is currently the most successful animated series in Latin America. “Don Gato y su Pandilla” (Top Cat: The Movie), which has broken several box office records and has been released in more than 25 countries, highlights amongst its’ most recent feature films.
Meanwhile, TELEVISA, world leading media and content company in Spanish, has announced last year its’ participation in this project as co-producer and licensing agent in Mexico.
BUGSTED, aimed for an audience between 8 and 11 years old, is a TV miniseries (13x1’), a platform app-game for Iphone, Ipad and Android a well as for the series characters collectible toys. The simultaneous released is expected by the last quarter of 2013.
Humor, bangs, irreverence… BUGSTED is nothing but entertainment. Bugsted tells the crazy feats of the Bugsteds’, some evolved mundane bugs from the Moon that accidentally arrived to Planet Earth. Now, their only mission is to find out their way home. The main problem, is that it is not so easy to find their way back for they imagine to see their home everywhere: in a cars’ headlight, a disco ball … their always crazy and frustrated attempts for going back home turn out this miniseries and app- game in tiny pills full with shameless laughing.
In full production, Vodka is still negotiating with different European and US TV channels. After its’ success with JELLY JAMM, currently being transmitted in 150 countries and dubbed into 18 languages, they continue to an international consolidation.
